What is BREPOLiS?
BREPOLiS is the home of all online databases of Brepols Publishers and its partners, aimed at the international community of humanities scholars.
For more than 25 years, Brepols Publishers has been developing high-value databases in the field of Humanities. Since 2001, these databases are available online on a platform. where you will find: eight Latin full-text databases, seven bibliographic databases, four encyclopaedias, and four free-standing databases.

What We Offer

You can download the BREPOLiS catalogue 2025 here.
Because it is sometimes difficult to clearly identify the chronological demarcation of each database, we have brought them together in a convenient timeline (PDF), including additional information on the ‘Typology’ of the various databases, the languages they cover, or the product clusters they belong to.
Important Content Updates & Functional Improvements (2026):
– Brepolis Bibliographies – Perspecti Citation Plugin (PCP)
Starting January 2026, Brepolis Bibliographies will include citation information through a new citation plugin. This tool will be available in the hitlist and on the record page, providing the total number of citations along with the bibliographical details of the citing publications. The citation data are sourced from Perspecti, Brepols’ upcoming database on research in the Humanities, which aims to extract and link various types of publication metadata. With the release of citation details through the new bibliographies citation plugin, Perspecti is presenting its initial findings.
All users of Brepolis bibliographies can access the number of citations, as well as the details of the two most recent citations. For comprehensive access to all registered citation details, Brepols offers an additional subscription option.
The Perspecti plugin is available for one to four bibliographies. The price depends on the number of bibliographies for which the plugin option needs to be activated. We also offer a one-year trial price for the first subscription year.
The Perspecti plugin is available in the following bibliographies:
- L’Année Philologique
- Bibliography of British and Irish History
- Brepolis Medieval & Early Modern Bibliographies, or any of its parts: International Medieval Bibliography – Bibliographie de Civilisation Médiévale – International Bibliography of Humanism and the Renaissance
- Index Religiosus

– Brepolis Full-Text Databases
Library of Latin Texts
2025 marks a new era for the Library of Latin Texts—the world’s leading database for Latin texts from the beginnings of Latin literature down to the present day. In March 2025, Brepols and the CTLO (Centre ‘Traditio Litterarum Occidentalium’, Brepols’ in-house Digital Classics lab) unveiled the beta version of the completely revamped Library of Latin Texts. As of July 10th, the new interface has become the default setting. This launch marks the beginning of a comprehensive overhaul of the BREPOLiS Latin databases, designed to enhance your interaction with Latin literature throughout the ages. Moreover, it will bring the database in line with recent regulations regarding accessibility.
In addition to the new interface, we have designed and implemented a completely new data model for the LLT, in order to make the database easier and more intuitive to navigate. The new data model allows for a new way of searching, including more options than ever before to construct your own corpus while performing your search. By applying filters to the result list, you can further break down your results. The database now also includes the Instrumenta pop-up, with suggestions for translations and morphological analysis. The tool is directly linked to the Database of Latin Dictionaries.
As we have completely restructured the LLT, a new set of MARC records has been created to replace all previous ones. Institutional subscribers should update the links in their library catalogue accordingly. The new MARC records are available for download directly from the LLT database under the menu item “MORE” > “MARC.”

Sources Chrétiennes Online
With more than 600 of about 630 printed volumes already available, the Sources Chrétiennes Online (SCO) database now includes 95% of the print volumes in the long-running Sources Chrétiennes edition project. A new content update is scheduled for this summer. In addition, the SCO database will receive a new interface— similar to the LLT—before the end of the year.
