The release includes major patristic authors, conciliar documents, hagiographical literature, and a remarkable collection of early Chinese Christian texts.

Martyrs, Saints, and Christian Memory

New hagiographical material highlights the enduring role of saints and martyrs in Christian culture:

• John Chrysostom’s Panegyrics on the Martyrs (SC 648) include sermons on Pelagia, the Maccabean martyrs, Bernice and Prosdoce, and Drosis.
• Gregory of Tours’ Liber de passione et virtutibus Iuliani (SC 656) preserves the cult and miracles of Saint Julian of Brioude, one of the most important saints of Merovingian Gaul.

Christianity Beyond the Mediterranean World

Textes chrétiens chinois du Haut Moyen Âge (SC 658) brings together a corpus of texts associated with the Christian communities of medieval China. The volume includes doctrinal, liturgical, and poetic works, as well as the famous Xi’an Stele.

In addition to the newly added volumes, several works published across multiple Sources Chrétiennes volumes have been upgraded to provide more intuitive navigation and a smoother user experience.
